8 Self-Care Facts Every Christian Woman Should Know!

Self-care is one of my absolute all time favorite topics to discuss and share about! But Why might you ask? Im so glad you did. Don't tell anyone but at this point im pretty much a self-care fanatic. Saturdays are for me because its soooo good for me. Thats the one day of the week I have to myself to build myself backup. Self-care means taking the much need time out of your typical routine to care for your soul.


The goal is to rest, restore, and rejuvenate!


Self-care can include but not limited to your physical health, mental health, emotional health, and spiritual health. All of theses areas need out attention in order for us to be the best versions of ourselves possible. Rather you're a busy mother like myself or maybe even a boss lady making things happen. I challenge you to take some time out to discover more ways you can care for your soul.

Its the simple things

By the time I finally hit my pillow around 10pm in the evening rest is calling my name loud and clear.


All I want is my favorite sweet tea, a bag of boom chicka popcorn, and peaceful sleep. Sometimes it's the simple things in life we don't consider that have potential to make all the difference. Getting enough rest at night, grabbing your favorite snack or two SOMETIMES LOL are a few simple examples of prating self care.


Is self-care important for christian women?

Yes, yes and yes!!! But here's why

It's important for anyone to practice self care to restore the parts of ourselves that we pour out on the daily basis at work, school, home ect.


However, as Christian's our time of rest is especially essential because that is our time to rest in the Lord. This day of rest can be considered in biblical terms as a "sabbath day". Simply a day of rest. God rested on the seventh day and also created rest for us too. Genesis 2:1 " By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done."


It's good for the mind, body , and soul.



Self-care is NOT selfish

1.)Taking the time out of your schedule to restore and rest in the Lord is not a selfish act but better yet an intentional strategy to allow the Lord to rejuvenate your soul.


Yep, you guessed it! Its Biblical

2.) God is in full agreement with you taking care of you. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 we learn that our body is a temple of the holy spirit so we should glorify God with our bodies. As it relates to self-care this looks like loving and caring for your body, eating healthy, and adding excising into your self-care routine.


Nourishment for the soul

3.) Building your spirit up with God's truth daily is all apart of nourishing the most important of yourself. Your soul! The soul is not seen with the physical eye, yet all you do flows from it.


Clarity

4.)Slowing down and spending quality time with yourself & God allows you to gain clarity. Are you in need of direction, quit time, or a word from the Lord? Make room for God to come in during your selfceare time and provide clarity.


Rest

5.) Rather you need rest spiritually or physically its rest that will allow you to continue to re-build your strength up to go forth in your God given assignment.


Restore

6.) What parts of yourself need restoration? Could it be your health? focus? or even passions and dreams? Allowing yourself to be restored and refreshed on the consistent basis is self-care at its best.


Rejuvenation

7.) Here on Crown Her Chosen its all about "living life on purpose". In order to flourish in your calling its sooo important you take time to rejuvenate .Which means "the action or process of giving new energy or vigor to something." Believe me you won't regret it!!! Rejuvenate Queen


Cost Nothing

8.) The amazing thing about self-care is that it can be completely free. Maybe a hot bubble bath, your bible, or a walk in the park are all simple yet great self-care tools to utilize.
